Just the scene you want
Open an MP4, MOV or other video and set the start and end with the slider. The ±1s and ±0.1s buttons fine-tune the start and end times separately, so you can cut out exactly the moment you don't want to miss.
TOOL · ANDROID
com.starry.gifmakerGifUp is a GIF maker that does three things: turn videos into GIFs, stitch photos into animated GIFs, and polish the GIFs you already have.
Trim the scene you want to the exact 0.1 second, pick the frame rate, resolution and loop mode, then tap Generate GIF.
The menus are simple enough that you can make your first GIF without any instructions.

FEATURES
Open an MP4, MOV or other video and set the start and end with the slider. The ±1s and ±0.1s buttons fine-tune the start and end times separately, so you can cut out exactly the moment you don't want to miss.
Pick several photos and GifUp strings them together into an animated GIF. Use burst shots, everyday snaps or meme images to make your own.
Open an existing GIF, change its frame rate, size or loop mode, and save it again.
Set the frame rate yourself, up to 30 FPS. Go higher for smooth motion or lower for a smaller file. The app recommends 10 to 30 FPS.
Drag the slider to scale the resolution anywhere from 10% to 100% and fit the upload limits of messaging apps and communities.
Choose whether the GIF loops endlessly or plays once and stops.
FILE SIZE
A GIF's file size grows roughly with width × height × number of frames. The same clip can end up very different in size depending on the frame rate and resolution you pick.
If you hit an upload limit, shorten the clip first, then lower the resolution, and lower the frame rate last. Halving the resolution cuts the pixels in each frame to about a quarter.
A 3 second clip at 30 FPS has 90 frames, and at 15 FPS it has 45. With half the frames, the file shrinks to roughly half its size.
Dropping the resolution from 100% to 50% on top of that leaves about a quarter of the pixels in each frame, shrinking the file a lot further.
HOW TO USE
On the home screen, tap Video → GIF, Image → GIF or Edit → GIF, then choose a video, photos or a GIF.
For a video, set the start and end on the Select Section screen and tap Next. Then choose the frame rate, resolution and loop mode.
Tap Generate GIF and the preview screen shows the progress. Going back while it runs cancels the GIF, so wait until it finishes.

Shorten the clip, or lower the resolution and frame rate in GIF Settings. Lowering the resolution makes the biggest difference.
