Nurikabe: Island Logic Puzzle Shade the sea, find the islands

Nurikabe: Island Logic Puzzle (섬섬 in Korean) turns the classic Japanese logic puzzle Nurikabe into a world of miniature islands. Each number is the size of an island; every other cell is sea.

Tiles you shade as sea sink beneath the water, and when you solve a puzzle the finished board becomes a tiny archipelago. Every puzzle has exactly one solution, so you never have to guess.

New to Nurikabe? A tutorial teaches the rules one at a time, and when you get stuck, hints explain which rule makes a cell sea.

FEATURES

Features

01 · Tutorial

Learn one rule at a time

No need to memorize five rules at once. A six-step tutorial introduces island size, no touching, no 2×2 sea and connected sea in turn, and only the rules you have learned appear as chips on screen.

02 · Hints

Hints that explain why

A hint doesn't just say a cell is sea; it explains which rule makes it so. Check tells you whether any cell you've shaded so far is wrong.

03 · Islands

Solve it, see the archipelago

Sea tiles sink into the water and the remaining land grows palm trees, lighthouses and huts. Clean and readable while you solve, beautiful once you're done.

04 · Chapters

31 archipelagos, 620 puzzles

From Easy through Normal, Hard and Expert up to 12×12 Master, with 20 puzzles per chapter. Each solved puzzle joins the island map in the exact shape of its solution.

05 · Daily

Four new puzzles every day

Easy, Normal, Hard and Expert puzzles open each day. Solve today's to keep your streak going, and replay the last 30 days from the calendar.

06 · Scenery

Blossom, Maple, Snow and Night Volcano

Beyond the default Tropical Isle, choose scenery themes with a different season and mood. Numbers and tiles stay the same, and you can try a paid theme for a day by watching an ad.

RULES

How Nurikabe works

Divide the grid into islands (land) and sea. A cell with a number is always land, and the number tells you how many cells its island has.

There are only five rules, but on bigger boards you'll combine several of them to settle a single cell. If you enjoy step-by-step deduction puzzles like Sudoku or nonograms, you'll feel at home quickly.

The five rules

1. A number N belongs to an island of N cells connected up, down, left or right.

2. Each island contains exactly one number.

3. Islands may not touch side by side. Touching diagonally is fine.

4. All sea cells must form one connected sea.

5. The sea may not form a 2×2 block.

GOOGLE PLAY GAMES

What the game does with your Google account

The game has no account of its own. Signing in with Google Play Games is optional and used only for cloud saves; every puzzle works without it.

When you sign in, your progress (solved puzzles, best times and daily streak) is saved to Play Games Saved Games, so you can continue after reinstalling the game or switching phones. It is stored in a hidden, app-specific folder of your own Google Drive and is never sent to a developer server.

The game never accesses your email, contacts or other Drive files, and never uses information from Google for ads or AI training or shares it with anyone.

  3. 03

    Complete the islands

When every island matches its number and the sea is connected, the puzzle is solved and the board opens into a small archipelago that stays on your island map.

FAQ

FAQ

Is it free?

Yes. Every chapter and daily puzzle is free to play. Remove Ads and scenery themes are optional purchases.

How often are ads shown?

Never while you are solving. A full-screen ad may appear when you tap Next puzzle after solving, only every few puzzles and several minutes apart, and not at all in your first 24 hours. Rewarded ads play only when you choose them, for example to refill hints.

What happens when I run out of hints?

You get up to 3 hints and 5 checks, and one refills every 30 minutes. Watch an ad to refill them at once. Every puzzle can be solved by logic alone, without hints.

Can I play offline?

The game needs an internet connection. If you buy Remove Ads, you can also play offline.

Will I lose my progress on a new phone?

Sign in with Google Play Games, then use the same account on your new phone to continue with your solved puzzles and streak. Restore purchased items with Restore purchases in the settings.

Which languages are supported?

Korean, English and Japanese. You can switch in the settings.

Is it available on iPhone?

The game is currently available only for Android on Google Play.
